Process:

1.        Research: (group)

a.       The first step in the process of creating your characters is learning about the ratio that is known for being related to beauty.  So, research the golden ratio or phi to learn about the ratio and its properties.  This can be done on your own or using the resources in the web quest.

2.       Self Test: (group)

a.       After you have researched the golden ratio and phi, you will be looking for the golden ratio on yourself.

3.       Celebrity Test:  (group)

a.       Now that you have done your research and tested yourself for the golden ratio, it is time to check how valid the ratio is.  You will need to think of two celebrities one who is considered to be very attractive and one that considered unattractive.  After you have selected your two celebrities, you will need to search for a picture of each of their faces and then another of their entire body.  Once you have both pictures, you will try and verify the property of the golden ratio. 

4.       Character Design (individual)

a.       As a group, decide who will be creating which character.  Once you have decided on that, you will be creating a two frames in which you will be using as a backbone for your character.  One frame will have your math and the other will be used to create the actual character.  Your frames will look similar to a skeletal system or a wire frame in which your character will be built on.  While creating your frames, be sure to make the appropriate ratios depending on if the character is to be attractive or unattractive.  Make sure the one frame has all the measurements and ratio calculations.

b.      Now that you have the entire body framed out, you will do the same for the face.  Be sure to make two: one for the measurements and calculations and one for the actual character drawing.

c.       Once you have created all the frames and ensured they have the correct measurements on the one frame,  take the other frame and create the actual character giving him or her all the necessary details.

5.       Power Point (group)

a.       Now that you have done the research and created your characters, you now will be making your presentation for the executives.

b.      Be sure to include information about the golden ration in your presentation, the information you verified while testing it on the two celebrities, the four characters, and the work that went into creating them (the measurements and calculations).
